King Oyster Mushrooms
(Pleurotus eryngii) also known as Giant King Oyster or French Horn Mushroom. They are medium to large in size and are easily identified by their thick cylindrical stem and their small, flattened cap. The ivory to white stems can grow up to twenty centimeters in length, five centimeters in diameter, and are firm, dense, and chewy. They have small, smooth caps that are grey to brown and have rounded, curved edges. Underneath the cap, the stem and cap are joined by off-white, thin, short, gills. The King Trumpets, though dense and spongy in texture, lack aroma and flavour, but when cooked, the mushrooms have a flavour not unlike an abalone, and have a crunchy texture.
Giant King Oyster mushrooms are beautiful giants. These mushrooms are true kings in the kitchen, with similar qualities to tofu – they absorb all flavour they encounter and are appreciated in all types of dishes. King Oyster mushrooms have a rather firm texture, but once cooked it is excellently chewy and incredible to bite into.

At Gourmet Mushrooms Geelong, we take the best care to ensure you get the highest quality mushroom products. Due to the nature of the product, we sell - living mycelium - returns/exchanges are not accepted once you have received the product. Refunds are issued under limited circumstances only (read further below). There are many challenges with growing mushrooms, and failure to obtain high quality mushrooms does not constitute a faulty product.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order within 24 hours of receiving the goods, and contact us immediately if the item is damaged, missing items, or if you have received the wrong item.
Refunds/Replacements
Refunds/replacements are not issued for grow kits that have grown an unsatisfactory number of fungi, as the success of these products are highly subjective to individual environmental conditions.
Due to the nature of the product, refunds/replacements are not issued for grow kits that are not activated within 21 days of receiving the goods. Gourmet Mushrooms Geelong is not held responsible for the quality of the product if there is a delay to activating the product, thus creating a higher probability of the product exhibiting signs of a fault/defect due to the age and storage conditions of the product.
If however, if your Oyster Grow Kit has not begun to pin mushrooms within 21 days of receiving your kit, we then start the process of providing email support to investigate the reason(s) for no growth. If it is determined by us that the product is defective, we will either issue a replacement or process a refund (3-7 working days) via your original payment method (proof of purchase required).Cancellation of Orders
If you wish to cancel your order before it has shipped, please contact us as soon as possible. Once your order has shipped, our standard return policy will apply.
Exchanges
At this time, we do not offer direct exchanges. If you wish to exchange an item, please return the original item for a refund and place a new order for the desired product.

Upon receipt of your returned item, please allow up to 7-10 business days for us to process the return and issue your refund. The exact processing time may vary depending on the volume of returns and your financial institution’s policies.

We ship orders Monday to Thursday. We do not ship Fridays to avoid extending delivery times - our products are alive.
Each product is hand made so please allow 4-5 days for the product to be shipped as it will depend on availability.
